DESCRIPTION OF ITINERARY:
DAY 01: TOURIST BUS PUNO – LA PAZ: Puno (Peru) Cradle of andean civilization, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca, at 3827 m above sea level, with a population of 180,000 inhabitants. Around the main square (Plaza de Armas) of Puno is located the Cathedral built in 1757 by Simon de Asto. Puno is known as “the capital of Peruvian floklore” with more than 700 types of dances. The port of Puno serves as a starting point to the island of the Uros, Taquile and Amantani. Be at bus station in Puno-Peru 30 minutes before departure, then departure by tourist bus to Copacabana (Bolivia), on the way passing by the towns of Chucuito (fertility temple), Plateria, Acora (inca tombs), Ilave, Hayumarca (portal gate), Juli (colonial churches), Pomata, Chacachaca, Yunguyo. Arrival at Kasani, where is located the Migrations Office (Peru & Bolivia), place where there are money changers. Then we continue with our trip, arriving to Copacabana (Bolivia), which is 143 km away from Puno Peru, located on shores of Lake Titicaca, at an altitude of 3,840 masl, with a population of 3000 inhabitants. There is a church in Copacabana, which is very visited by Peruvians and Bolivians. Copacabana is today a center of pilgrimage of thousands of loyal. In Copacabana not bus station, that is why the buses stop outside of office, also we will change another bus. Be 30 minutes before at bus office, then departure by tourist bus from Copacabana to La Paz (Bolivia), en route crossing by local boat Tiquina channel-strait (750m), afterwards we board the bus again, on the way passing the local villages of Huatajata and Batallas, finally arriving to the city El Alto where is located the international airport. We go down to La Paz (Bolivia), which is the house of the government, located at 3600m above sea level, surrounded by illimani a snow capped mountain. A living history, which treasures the pre-Hispanic times with all its traditions and magic rites scattered everywhere. Colonial and indigenous neighborhoods; Colorful and local artisan markets. If you hold a passport from another country, we will send all information necessary otherwise check with your local consulate or embassy about requirements for travel to Bolivia. All passengers traveling internationally are required to have a passport. Please carry proper identification on you and do not leave in your suitcase or hotel room. In most of places like airports, train-bus stations, frontier or at any other check points you must to show passport, because some countries have laws that require you to carry your passport with you at all times and anywhere.
